‘Sexting’ Uncool, But Also Wrong
Closed Published by anonymous May 27th, 2009 in Pornography, Teenage and Child Sexuality, The CultureI’ve been told that if I’d been a parent in the 1950s, I probably would have spoken out against Elvis Presley’s pelvic thrust as a dance move. The theory is that teens of every generation will find their own ways to rebel against the cultural norm, and that parents from one generation to the next [...]
Thank you Joanna Repsold for Standing Up For Our Kids!
Closed Published by anonymous March 20th, 2009 in "Comprehensive" Sex Ed, Abstinence, Media Bits, The CultureA HUGE thanks from parents all over the country goes out to Joanna Respold who in her blog entry of 1/23/09 stood up to Henry Waxman and his sexualization of the children of America. It’s awesome to see a young lady who seems to have it all together get up and tell the World that [...]

As I was surfing through the waves of negative information about abstinence, I was pleased to come ashore on these two articles from the New York Times! How far we have come or have we come from the way it was back then!

The phenomenon that is “Twilight” and how it relates to you
0 Comments Published by anonymous November 21st, 2008 in Book Reviews, The CultureTwilight.
It’s funny how one word can have so many different connotations. Some look at that word and think, “a nice time of day.” Others look at it and swoon, thinking of the monstrously successful book series from Stephenie Meyer that is quickly about to become even more of a phenomenon with the movie release of [...]
In Defense of Maintaining Your Virginity
Closed Published by anonymous September 22nd, 2008 in Abstinence, Media Bits, The CultureAbout a week and a half ago, musicians, actors, actresses, and fans flooded Hollywood’s Paramount Studios for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
The event featured performances by Rihanna, T.I., Paramore, the Jonas Brothers and the comedic styling of the evening’s host, Russell Brand, replete with his oh-so-subtle remarks regarding the purity rings which the Jonas [...]
A Blog and a Book Concerning Modesty
Closed Published by anonymous June 12th, 2008 in Abstinence, Book Reviews, Teenage and Child Sexuality, The CultureI just finished reading Wendy Shalit’s “Girls Gone Mild” and while it took me almost a month and a half, only getting to read a chapter every couple of days, the impact of this book was in no way lessened. This book made me think. In fact, a chapter at a time was really all that I [...]
Many of the most recent news headlines have been rife with reports of sex and scandal. Not that this should really shock anyone, as it is obvious that there is nothing the media will fixate its attention on longer or harder than the tawdry; however, despite how often the weekly wires are inundated with talk of [...]
Hollywood Doc NOT an Expert on Abstinence
1 Comment Published by anonymous March 28th, 2008 in "Comprehensive" Sex Ed, The CultureIf anyone saw the Early Show this morning, you saw Kate Walsh, who played a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy, talking about how abstinence education has failed our kids. Since when did an actress who plays a doctor on TV become any sort of expert on health issues? Did anyone else notice that no one from [...]
Kindergardners In Trouble for Hugging
0 Comments Published by anonymous November 28th, 2007 in The CultureThis article is crazy! Young school age children are being punished for sexual harassment. Kindergartners and first graders are being suspended for sexual misconduct based on behavior like hugging, poking, and pinching classmates or school staff. Many people are shocked that states are collecting data about sexual harassment among children so young.
