I’ve been told that if I’d been a parent in the 1950s, I probably would have spoken out against Elvis Presley’s pelvic thrust as a dance move. The theory is that teens of every generation will find their own ways to rebel against the cultural norm, and that parents from one generation to the next [...]

A HUGE thanks from parents all over the country goes out to Joanna Respold who in her blog entry of 1/23/09 stood up to Henry Waxman and his sexualization of the children of America.  It’s awesome to see a young lady who seems to have it all together get up and tell the World that [...]

As I was surfing through the waves of negative information about abstinence, I was pleased to come ashore on these two articles from the New York Times!  How far we have come or have we come from the way it was back then!

The event featured performances by Rihanna, T.I., Paramore, the Jonas Brothers and the comedic styling of the evening’s host, Russell Brand, replete with his oh-so-subtle remarks regarding the purity rings which the Jonas [...]

I just finished reading Wendy Shalit’s “Girls Gone Mild” and while it took me almost a month and a half, only getting to read a chapter every couple of days, the impact of this book was in no way lessened. This book made me think. In fact, a chapter at a time was really all that I [...]

Abstinence has to be more

Many of the most recent news headlines have been rife with reports of sex and scandal. Not that this should really shock anyone, as it is obvious that there is nothing the media will fixate its attention on longer or harder than the tawdry; however, despite how often the weekly wires are inundated with talk of [...]

If anyone saw the Early Show this morning, you saw Kate Walsh, who played a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy, talking about how abstinence education has failed our kids.  Since when did an actress who plays a doctor on TV become any sort of expert on health issues?  Did anyone else notice that no one from [...]

This article is crazy!  Young school age children are being punished for sexual harassment.  Kindergartners and first graders are being suspended for sexual misconduct based on behavior like hugging, poking, and pinching classmates or school staff.  Many people are shocked that states are collecting data about sexual harassment among children so young.
