What?  “…family planning services reduce cost.” Is she serious?  How does teaching kids to have more sex actually help reduce cost to the states.  Condoms, pills, powders and potions will NEVER be the solution to our society’s problems.  How about responsibility, integrity and character.  Perhaps that is what we should be teaching our kids instead of “if it feels good, do it.”  Last I checked, too, no “family planning service” protects sexually active teens or adults 100% from STD’s.  We are already facing a serious public health crisis in our country.  If this were any other public health crisis, primary prevention would be the #1 strategy to curb that crisis.  Can we please ask ourselves why primary prevention is being ignored?

And I loved what Jenny’s blog about Allstate Insurance and their ad that highlighted the brain development in teens and why they cost more to insure.  Once again, these so called “family planning services” fail when it comes to teaching kids the safest and healthiest option for protecting their bodies and emotions and providing them the tools to make those safest and healthiest decisions by ignoring the basic biology of their brain.  They lower the bar for these kids and put their lives at risk in the process.
