Just say “No”
Published by June Swenson June 4th, 2008 in AbstinenceIt’s amazing to me that “no” happens to be one of the first words in a child’s vocabulary. Yet, when they get to be older, the word simply goes out of their head when it comes to their sexual integrity and, just as important, their sexual health. One simple word can separate them years of physical pain and other effects of STD’s as well as unwanted pregnancy.
The NAEA recently talked about a “risk-avoidance” approach in teaching teens about sex. This language is rather watered down. Let’s get it right, let’s continue to teach the youth of America a strong abstinence until marriage message.
