Abstinence Clearinghouse Position Statements
Published by contactus December 9th, 2005 in AbstinenceAbstinence Clearinghouse believes age-appropriate puberty educations lays the foundation that promotes healthy relationships and sexual abstinence. Prior to puberty, children should not be exposed to abstract sexual concepts until they can assimilate and act on them responsibly and successfully. Presenting ht complexities of human development prior to the age of abstract thinking (usually between the ages of 11 and 16) creates confusion and anxiety. Parents of prepubescent children exhibiting primary or secondary physical development should prepare them for the eminent physical changes earlier.
